spring 2017

The temperatures are high at the moment. 
The nature is at least 10 days ahead.
The grapes are waking up, the juices are streaming slowly. 
The buds are uncroping.
Now we hope that the temperature are remaining abouve the 0 deg limits, otherwise......

Vigs starting growing, ( no flowers needed!)
After the flowering in february now already young almonds visible.

The wintermonts in Catalunia the people eat Calcots. It is a spring -onion in xxl size.
Nice on the bbq with vinetrimmings. Sizzeling on the fire, and kept warm in the Spanich roof tile.
You get black vingers, but no problem, the are very nice with Romesco sauce and Spanich lam with Terra Vermella!

pruning of the vines

Pruning of the vines, now it is a good season for this, nice temperatures and time enough before the start budding for the new year, mostly mid march.
last year I bought myself a new electrical scissors, a feast for my wrist!

Her we pruning the old vines planted in 1972, 45 year old a new lustrum, we use these grapes for our Terra Negra wines, Crianza type.

spring in Spain

Spring in Spain, The bees are working, on the flowers witch start to bloom. The first eg between the vines are discovered! 
Nice temperatures about 15 deg C in the sun 25 deg C, in the night still fresh like 0-5 deg C.

The mist from some rain abouve the pine trees,  nice vieuws.

The amandels starts flowering with blue skys.

Curs de Poda // Cutting the vines course

We are never finiching studing, the vines and his myths around it.
This time we do the cource cutting the vines.
To improve the standards!

All types have been revieuwd, The old model Vaso, and the trellised types, old vines.
The next course is leafmanagment, like to do that probably in mai.
